John Yu

Research Assistant

John Yu, a Research Assistant with Genoil Inc., has a master degree in physical chemistry from Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and is a member of ACPA (Association of the Chemical Profession of Alberta).

John came to Genoil Inc. in August, 2007, and has been working on the heavy oil upgrading project.  Before joining in the company, John had seven-year experience with SINOPEC doing research and development of heavy oil such as VGO hydrotreating and hydrocracking catalysts for production of diesel fuels, middle distillates, and naphtha.  Several catalysts in both categories have been commercialized and used in several commercial refining units with capacities of million-tons/year in China.  John also published papers and filed several patents in Chinese and English during his work in China.
