Paul Costinel -  Patent Engineer

Paul Costinel has been with Genoil since 2000. Prior to joining Genoil, Mr. Costinel held a similar position with CE3 Technologies Inc., an oil and gas engineering company acquired by Genoil Inc. in 1999. During his tenure, Mr. Costinel designed a novel water treatment plant for a sand washing process currently owned by Genoil. His initiatives led to a new method for processing contaminated water in upstream distillation plants in addition to the introduction of innovative concepts and equipment for cleaning sands contaminated with hydrocarbons. More recently, Mr. Costinel was instrumental in designing the world's fastest disk stack centrifugal separator (Allegretto) as part of Genoil's hydrogen research program. 

Paul Costinel started his career at Navrom Shipping Corporation, in Constanta, Romania. Subsequently, Mr. Costinel held the post of Chief Engineer in the Northwest Territories and Senior Engineer Officer with the B.C. Ferries Corporation. Responsibilities included engine room personnel, organizing initiatives for effective vessel operation, and for preparing vessels for annual inspections, etc. As a Marine Engineer, Mr. Costinel holds a First Class Certificate from Transport Canada (Ottawa).

In 2006 Mr. Costinel devised an innovative concept in sand decontamination and patented both the method and a key component of the system, the sand cleansing reactor. Mr. Costinel also patented a method for removing fines from oil tanks, a three phase test separator for oil fields and a method for introducing fluids into a hydrocaracking reactor. More recently he has developed a method for the prevention of pollution by fish farms and a system for recycling wastewater for reuse in areas afflicted by water scarcity.

Based on his previously patented crystal separators, Mr. Costinel has developed a new line of separators for marine use and obtained US Coast Guard - IMO MEPC 107 (49) certification.

Among Paul Costinel's numerous achievements are several patented inventions with applications in oil-water separation, water treatment and production sand washing. Mr. Costinel also possesses valuable knowledge in the fields of safety and environmental protection.
